My name is Nicholas Edwards-Cockerham. I have been playing piano going on 20+ years. I have developed a passion for piano due to all the styles and ways to learn it. I myself started out as a beginner and have had a few teachers to learn the basics. I have also learned to pick up music by ear very fast. As a kid, the first teacher I had, I used to get in trouble for not learning my notes and would have a hard time with basic Music Theory. At first, she would play the song, then I would go back and mimic the exact way she played. After a few lessons, she had to have me focus on learning the notes and basic scales to improve my ability to read music fluently. After a while, my teacher ended up retiring after some time and ended up self teaching myself. I have been teaching students now for the last 5+ years, and I do enjoy sharing experiences with each student that I interact with!

I do believe that everyone has a gift or an affinity for music. I am a strong believer that everyone should be able to have a life of music. I also believe that music is therapeutic and essential to the soul. That's why I became a teacher. Whether you're a just a beginner or an advanced student needing guidance, even if you would like to impress a significant other, let's explore music together!!

Currently located in Midland, TX. I offer both group and private lessons online or in person, separated by skill level, for many different instruments. If you're unsure about which level is appropriate for you, I do offer free placement tests!

Disclosure: I do require students to have a piano or keyboard to practice with. Students' must practice at least 15 mins a day.
